NATIONAL NEWS – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) announced today that it is investigating reports of salmonella outbreaks in 42 states. Reports received by the CDCP show that salmonella has been the suspected cause of 388 people who have recently become sick in the 42 states. Of the 388 people who have been sickened, approximately 70 people have been hospitalized and although state and national health officials are working together to determine the source of the outbreaks, they have yet determined the cause of the salmonella outbreaks or whether the cases are related.
