CALIFORNIA – On Monday, January 18, 2009, the manufacturing company Ryobi announced a recall on their corded circular saws model numbers CSB 123, CSB 133L, and CSB 142LZ. From October to November 2008, Home Depot sold around 12,000 Ryobi saws for between $30 and $70 each. Ryobi has stated that the product contains a defective spring in the lower blade guard that may break, posing a laceration hazard to its users.
In that these particular products are known to cause serious risk of injury, consumers should stop using these saws immediately, and contact One World Technologies, Inc. at (800) 525-2579 or visit www.ryobitools.com in order to find the nearest authorized service center to schedule a free repair. Although no injuries have been reported at this time, there is a significant risk involved in the continued use of these saws, and consumers should take all necessary precautions. However, if you have been injured by this product or any other defective products in California, please contact Berman & Riedel, LLP, to consult with a knowledgeable consumer attorney.
