A 31-year-old Navy Veteran passed away today after she suffered catastrophic injuries while on an amusement attraction at the San Bernardino County Fair in Victorville, California. On Thursday, May 28, 2015, the Veteran, sustained severe injuries when she fell nearly 40-feet off of the “FreeDrop USA” attraction. Sadly, in the early morning of May 29, 2015, she succumbed to those injuries, passing away at Victor Valley Global Medical Center in Colton, California. Following her death, fair officials said the attraction has been shut down indefinitely.
Sadly, these types of catastrophic fair injuries happen all too frequently. In a related case dealing with an amusement ride at the San Diego County Fair, our firm was able to secure an $8 Million settlement for injuries our client sustained. Given the complicated and unique nature of these types of lawsuits, it is important to immediately consult with an attorney if you believe that you or a loved one may have claim. If you or a loved one suffered a serious injury while at a fair or amusement park, the attorneys at Berman & Riedel, LLP will be more than happy to speak with you or answer any questions you may have.
