CAMP PENDLETON, CALIFORNIA – According to the military, a Marine driving at Camp Pendleton was killed in a car accident on base. The Marine was driving a personal vehicle on the base when the Marine’s car collided with a military Humvee. The accident occurred Wednesday morning at Las Pulgas and Basilone roads.
The personal vehicle and the Humvee collided at the intersection. The Marine was assigned to the 1st Marine Division. Military officials have not yet released any additional information about the victim; including the victim’s age, gender, and rank. It is also not yet known whether anyone else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The accident is currently under investigation by Pendleton’s Provost Marshal’s Office.
